Handmade bison leather ranger belt by Coronado Leather, brought to you by Letherwerks.
Coronado Leather's classic ranger style belt worn by cowboys since the 1920's. Made in the traditional style with a 1" wide latigo leather billet and 1-1/2" wide base belt made from American Bison leather. Beautifully handcrafted the way traditional saddle makers construct them today. Coronado Leather's collection of Shrunken American Bison leather belts is distinctive and bold as the American Bison itself. These hides are tumbled longer and tanned to shrink in order to display a more pronounced, natural pebble-grain surface. The result is a thicker, sturdier hide with incredible texture and unparalleled durability.

The American bison has long been a quintessential part of America’s history and the unbridled freedom of our great country. Coronado Leather works closely with their tannery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to develop a beautiful finish to exact specifications. The skins go through a detailed shrinking process that accentuates the already bold and textured appearance of the hide, giving this tough and rugged leather a distinct appearance that can’t be replicated by any other material. The Bison Collection is designed to embrace and showcase the natural scarring and texture variations that make this leather so special. The full collection is crafted by hand from start to finish in Coronado Leather's San Diego leather shop, with solid antiqued brass hardware, refined details and CCW pockets where noted.

Coronado Leather started making belts more than a decade ago and their process has not changed much today. Their belts are truly handmade the way traditional saddle makers were taught to make them. The entire process is done in their San Diego workshop. They start with premium leathers, cut the hides in strips and back them with a lightly buffed, vegetable tanned liner. The stitching is done with care and the edges are beveled, stained and polished by hand not by automated machines. The company prides itself on the process and won't compromise quality to save time, which is exactly why we carry them.
